Defining "reasonable" Russian supply.-

"But will Russian platinum and rhodium shipments at last arrive? The platinum and palladium market remains sceptical. Gokhran, the state treasury that is in charge of Russia's precious metals and gems stockpiles, announced that Russian Acting President Vladimir Putin had signed an export quota decree for platinum, palladium and rhodium, reported Interfax. Reuters' Moscow correspondent, in contrast reported that several Gokhran officials would not confirm the Interfax report.

"Jeremy Coombes, marketing manager of Johnson Matthey said that he would believe the Interfax story when the platinum is delivered. There have been similar claims before and so far the Russians have not shipped any metal. Palladium, however, has arrived on Western markets and Norilsk, the nickel producer, which mines palladium and platinum as a by product has been selling Coombes said."
