SAF, you may have seen me mention Japan before...i believe Japan contributes majorly to the U.S. bubble. the zero interest rate policy coupled with no demand for capital within Japan, makes it a big exporter of capital...many Japanese institutions throw money at the NAZ.
and i fully agree with that post re: the Japanese government and its attempts to manipulate markets...they are well known for that. however, they are juggling to many things at once right now. something will eventually have to give...my guess is the first victim will be the Japanese bond market.
i was bullish on Japans prospects for a while, and it was timely in terms of the stock market there...but the latest evidence from their economy coupled with the vast increase in govt. debt on top of a still shaky banking system make me think i may have been early. Japan could still collapse...a final washout so to speak.

regards,
