March 5th, 2000 - Sunday TI Portfolio: TJ30 Portfolio by Trader J tigerinvestor.com Lets talk about the portfolio! Through 3/3/2000, the TJ30 Portfolio is up respectable 18% for the year. This with the DJ30 off 10%, S&P off 4%, and the Nasdaq powering ahead by 17%, year-to-date. But before comparisons are drawn, lets talk about the difference between this portfolio, and other "competing" portfolios. The TJ30 Portfolio is a static, yearly, portfolio that does NOT have any turnover throughout the year. All issues taken on 1/1, are held through 12/31. I believe this allows for better research, balance, and a responsibility towards selection as a bad issue can seriously affect the entire portfolio.
