Inflation Testimony A few weeks ago, Greenspan said: ``I cannot find (inflation) no matter where I look with the exception of oil prices and some commodity prices rising,' he said. I find this quote interesting in the context of the reported Greenspan focus on the leading indicators of inflation. If Greenspan was such an ardent follower of these indicators, one would believe he would be waving these indicators during his testimony to justify the tightening cycle. I don't think he has mentioned them once recently.
