CPQ -- 13% of revenues but 18% of earnings came from storage (Tandem, Digital, etc).

Isn't it almost predictable how this particular EMC board gets its annual batch of, shall we say, more momentum-oriented investors who obsess and try to read too much into EMC's short-term trading patterns?

Dear Tony: You are right! (Hoping I am not insulting anyone here) it is mostly the stock market newbies who consider stocks that _only_ appreciate a measly 85%, like EMC, dogs. One of these 2 1/2 year wonders on another thread dropped me a PM before Christmas asking me what stocks I liked. I replied, "STM and SUNW." I was informed **neither** met the person's criteria for investment because **neither** had performed that well:

Me? My portfolio goals are modest: I hope for 20% appreciation, will be happy as long as it beats money market rates, and get a Cheshire cat grin when the total is **much** better.
