Twin Gold to commence bulk sampling program Twin Gold Corp TWG Shares issued 53,199,388 2000-03-14 close $0.9 Wednesday Mar 15 2000 Mr. Hermann Derbuch reports Twin Gold has received successful bidders for the various aspects of the mini-bulk sampling program commencing later this month. The evaluation of the economic potential of Twin Gold's Torngat diamond property in Nunavik, Northern Quebec, will be carried out by the following contractors under the supervision of Dallas Davis, Twin Gold's director diamond -- mining. Torngat Mountains Outfitting Camp Inc., whose facility is located at the head end of Alluviaq Fjord, will provide accommodations, meals and local service support. The principals of Torngat Outfitting are from Rawdon, Que., and Kangiqsualujjuaq, a town approximately 90 kilometres south of the Torngat site. Air services have been assigned to Makivik Corporation subsidiary companies Nunavik Rotors for continuous helicopter support, Johnny May Air Charters for single Otter ski service as needed, and Air Inuit for heavy freight. The latter primarily involves air lifting 50 to 80 tonnes of samples from Kangiqsualujjuaq to the LG-2 hydro project site, secure storage of samples at Air Inuit's warehouse at LG-2 and arranging secure trucking to Saskatoon. Recovery of diamonds (greater than one millimetre) will be undertaken at the bulk kimberlite processing plant of Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) in Saskatoon. The plant using jigs has processed approximately 500 tonnes of material over the past 10 years, including approximately 300 tonnes for the Fort a la Corne joint venture of Monopros, Cameco, Uranerz and Kensington Resources. Anglaumaque Explorations Inc. and Francaumaque Explorations of Val d'Or, Que., will provide geological and field services as well as source local contractors and supplies. MPH Consulting Limited will detail procedures in a quality control/quality assurance manual for acquisition, storage and transportation to the SRC secure compound. In addition, they will conduct independent procedural audits. MRDI Canada, a division of AGRA Simons Ltd., will review and audit the sample processing at SRC. All contractors with respect to field aspects have good track records for project work in Arctic conditions thus assuring the success of Twin Gold's ambitious diamond exploration program.
