The Media wants to restore the way it used to be, when the candidates of both parties were interchangeable except for party label. That way, heads they win, tails we lose. They like personalities/empty suits like McCain, because such have no intellectual basis for governing - it's all about them. That's why Noonan finds the prospect of McCain as Prez so much of a crap-shoot, no one knows what direction he'll careen off into.
