Access Worldwide (AWWC):

Access Worldwide Awarded $5.3 Million in Client Contracts
Company Wins New Agreements While Expanding and Extending Existing Contracts

BOCA RATON, Fla., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Access Worldwide Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: AWWC - news), a leading marketing services organization, today announced client contracts totaling $5.3 million in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications and music and entertainment industries. Six new contracts have been negotiated while two existing clients have renewed their agreements through 2000.

Specific details of the agreements cannot be disclosed due to the strategic value of the services and the confidential nature of the information that Access Worldwide provides for its clients.

Access Worldwide has been awarded a contract to perform sample fulfillment for an old drug under a new name for the Horizon Pharmaceutical Corporation, an emerging pharmaceutical company focused on the development and marketing of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of chronic diseases. Currently, Access Worldwide is performing physician detailing for the client. The inbound and outbound campaign began in January 2000. Sample fulfillment of the product will begin later in the year from Access Worldwide's Drug Enforcement Administration approved fulfillment center, the nation's largest outsourced sample fulfillment center of its kind.

For a leading healthcare company, Access Worldwide has negotiated an agreement to provide sample fulfillment for an antibiotic cream and ointment for dermatological use. Additionally, Access Worldwide will provide direct mail capabilities with its NFL Monday Insider© and PGA Tour© programs; two, exclusive, high-impact marketing programs that combine product information with sporting programs and logos.

Using the NFL Monday Insider, Access Worldwide is performing direct mail and sample fulfillment for five products for another pharmaceutical client. The three-wave campaign began in 1999 and extends throughout the first quarter of 2000. This is a new program and contract for a client in its second year with Access Worldwide.

Continuing on a long-term, existing relationship, Access Worldwide is providing teledetailing, product stocking and sample support services for a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. Contracts have been signed with the client for three programs for drugs generally prescribed by podiatrists and pediatricians. The projected start date is March 1, 2000.

For a client in the telecom industry, Access Worldwide is providing customer teleservices from Access Worldwide's call center in Arlington, VA. The campaign began in January 2000 and is an expansion of an ongoing relationship that was established in 1998. Revenue from the client has increased five-fold from the initial contract.

Access Worldwide is executing outbound consumer teleservices for a client in the music and entertainment industry. Teleservices representatives are making sales and acquisition calls in English and Spanish to potential customers of the client's music club program.

The contract renewals come from clients in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Searle, the pharmaceutical sector of Monsanto Company, has extended their original agreement for physician validation and sample accountability programs for an additional year. The original contract was negotiated in January 1998.

A one year renewal was won from Noven Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leading developer of drug delivery technologies. Access Worldwide is providing electronic territory management systems (ETMS) for the client's existing sales representatives. ETMS is a paperless system that provides connectivity between pharmaceutical industry field sales organizations and office locations, accelerating the sales, sampling and fulfillment process. Additionally, Access Worldwide is managing direct mail and sample fulfillment for three of the client's product lines including medication for menopause and osteoporosis.

Michael Dinkins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Access Worldwide stated, ``I am truly excited by the momentum of Access Worldwide's sales team. We announced $12.3 million in new and expanded contracts in recent weeks and now, less than 90 days later, we have unveiled an additional $5.3 million. The sales and proposal process is active. New contracts are being signed, current clients are extending their original agreements and the company is realizing cross-selling successes.'

Access Worldwide provides outsourced sales, marketing and medical education services to more than 100 clients in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, financial services and consumer products industries. The company designs and delivers innovative, data-driven sales and marketing solutions that maximize clients' sales and profits. The company has particular expertise in reaching key pharmaceutical audiences -- physicians, pharmacists and patients -- and targeted consumer groups. Access Worldwide's resources include proprietary databases of targeted consumers, physicians and pharmacies; strategic planning and market research services; medical education; medical meetings management; medical publications; inbound and outbound teleservices in 15 different languages; electronic territory management systems; and Drug Enforcement Administration approved drug sample fulfillment and direct mail capabilities. Additionally, the company has significant information technology and Internet solutions capabilities. Access Worldwide has over 1,600 employees and representatives in offices throughout the United States.

This release contains forward-looking statements that are subject to risk and uncertainty. Access Worldwide's actual results could differ materially from those discussed in such forward-looking statements due to various factors which are outside the company's control, such as a reliance on a limited number of major customers, the need for growth management, acquisition risk, competition, industry consolidation, potential consumer saturation, and the uncertainty as to whether the company will be able to restructure its debt with its banks. For a more detailed discussion of these factors and others, see the risk factors section of Access Worldwide's Annual Report filed on Form 10-K.

Anyone here get in on ESOL? moving nicely today. Also do some DD on DAWK, taken from hoovers.

Daw Technologies is cleaning up. The company makes, installs, and services ultraclean rooms and clean room components (together they account for over 85% of sales). Clean rooms enable semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturers to control crucial environmental variables such as temperature, dust, and electromagnetic fields. Daw has customers in North America (over half of sales), Asia, and Europe. With the chip market down, the company laid off nearly half its workers in 1998. Daw is using its clean room know-how to diversify into products such as truck sleeper cabs (13% of sales) and commercial and industrial air handling systems. Retired founder Weston Daw and son Ronald (chairman) own 18% of Daw.
