Barry, I don't know if they have something under development. However, JDSU wants to see these types of innovations so that the demand for optical components increases. This is good news for JDSU and of course Agilent.

barry - I heard ETEK is working on a project with LPTHA, developing an optical switch. LPTHA is going bonkers today as well........up 11 points! If they are, it's to JDSU's benefit. fishweed

Barry: In general, JDSU makes parts that companies like Agilent, Lucent, and Nortel use to build their equipment. In other words, JDSU is a supplier to these companies, not a competitor.

Barry, thanks for posting that Agilent story. It had slipped past me. As soon as I saw, it was time to load up a little on Agilent. Thanks again, I appreciate it. It is not a company I had been following so i did not keep up with the news. Maybe many other investors in optical stocks were in the same situation. As the news is spreading, the stock is taking off even higher. Might start to take some profits on A and hold onto my core holding(newly established)
