I think Intel knew AMD was gonna release 1Ghz probably by end of march early april.

And they put some kind of a skunk works team to tweak the processor and MB and cooling etc.

Frankly it was not a bad idea depending upon overall volumes.

But i read recently that Dell may not even launch until later on depending upon availability of Intel 1GHz chips.

Now If Intel pulls the March 9 launch this could get even more disastrous.
