Another statistic

The Athlon had 46% of the $1500 - $2000 retail market in January, according to PC Data!

The reaction to AMD being the FIRST to 1GHz is AMAZING!

It seems as if AMD is being seen in a different light, as a more capable competitor. The last time AMD got this much press attention was when they publically released the Athlon in August, but even then articles were questioning AMD's execution. Now, articles are saying raising MHz isn't a problem for AMD.

And as far as Intel, I am disappointed they didn't also release a 1GHz PIII today. I thought it would have been neat for both companies to reach the milestone on the same day, it might have even gotten more press and created more demand. Oh well, when Intel's 1GHz comes out AMD will get more free press. Maybe Intel will surprise everyone and release a 1.1GHz PIII, but after the lack of a release today, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Man, today has been an awesome day for me in the market!

One more thing - Congrats to all AMD employees and shareholders!

Perry, Looks like ML either does not do their work or we are faced with the realization that they think nothing has changed with AMD....this gives me great faith in ML research....not.
