wily - thanks for the input...here goes...hope I am not showing my ignorance too much. re: RW - does RAID provide me with enough redundancy to not have to do back ups...I really don't need everything I always thought I wanted dual processors but somehow I got talked out of it...that it was not a technology that would be used by a lot of the software/programs out there...you are right it is not much of an additional cost I thought this was going to be as simple as spending too much money...now am having to rethink my machine - should have bought it first, and asked questions later hehehe Thanks Again Cormac PS - I do know Eric and will drop him a line... though he is a busy man
