Just like I said the other day, we are feeling the effects of no major news. People go out and find every bit of info to condemn DSL and AWRE. Ever heard the phrase "The sky is falling..." Jess, you are correct that ADI is our primary user of Awre's technology and they are going gang busters. The following post from awre specifically states that ADI uses AWRE and Virata together in their products. They don't compete, they compliment. As for the recent announcement, name 1 company that is currently SELLING products with the new Beryllium technology. For that matter, name 1 company that means squat in this market. Diamond Multimedia....oh please, I am shaking in my boots. There is not 1 Lucent, ADI, Intel, etc. Just like I said, the shorts use all of this hype to talk you out of your money. As soon as an announcement hits about Intel or earnings, we will be in the 80's. Perry "Aware?s Perspective on ADI and Virata?s Announcement to Develop Reference Design Solutions 01/18/00 Analog Devices and Virata Corporation announced the joint development of a reference design kit for the deployment of ADSL customer premises equipment devices on January 18, 2000. The solution will consist of ADI's AD20msp930 ADSL chipset, and Virata's Helium? communications processor and networking software. ADI's chipset, which is based on Aware?s technology, provides the physical layer functionality required to implement ADSL. Virata's chip and software provide higher layer communications functionality such as, an ATM engine, IP processing, Ethernet and USB interfaces, bridging, routing, and tunneling. These are complimentary technologies that are required to manufacture ADSL modems. The combination of solutions from both companies leverages the strengths that each has to offer. We believe that this announcement is beneficial to Aware, because it should help ADI sell more ADSL chipsets, and that should generate more royalty revenue for Aware."
