Dream Machine Gents,

Just wanted to give you a summary of the system I just built.

Finally retired the ASUS P2B with overclocked Celeron you helped me build a while back.

Went with ASUS P3C2000 (no audio) and the P3 600E flipchip. On my first try this pup overclocked to 800 and has been running stable with no problems. The chip is from batch 7007A462 and was packed on 2/25/00. My old pc100 ram did not perform well and I now am left with a 128 stick that will go into a different computer. The nice thing is that you can adjust the processor speed independent from the rest of the system. The easiest overclock yet for me.

For some reason I had a very difficult time getting the soundblaster live to work. I ended up downloading the latest drivers from Creative and then was able to finish. The funny thing is you still have the audio codec jumpers and soft menu commands on this non-audio version of the board. I think that is part of the problem and very frustrating.

Thanks for all the help here, and good luck.

TH
