Richard: Fun to read about I'll concede. Years ago my older son, who has always been a bookworm dragged the whole family round the La Brea Tar Pit site and subsequently The Los Angeles County Museum. This must have been about thirty years ago because he is now 40. The Sabre tooth you are talking about was native to California, they have the teeth and bones in considerable quantity to prove it. Let's not get carried away, either figuratively or literally, by importing something we can't really handle. Yhe Museum by the way is a fascinating place, or at least it was then. Cheers
