FEM: It will be. The oil boys will tell the Saudis when to turn the spigot on and since they are in Bush's court it is going to be a Republican call. If it is the "economy stupid" this oil "TAX" will do a lot more harm to the economy as far as siphoning capital off then will the Fed's feeble efforts. In fact the Fed better countenance this real drain from our markets. The face is facing two huge hurdles to raising rates here: 1.The election forthcoming 2. This dollar drain due to oil prices.

To punish the Saudis we should weaken the dollar and make them reinvest it in the US markets. Pay the suckers with cheaper dollars! JFD
