Paul

First: Wasn't it you who was very recently discrediting Anand as a cheerleading site. Don't make me dig that up again.

Second: From your quote from Anand's site <"AMD outfitted with our test sample 1GHz CPU with a Foxconn unit that featured two fans.">... Where does he claim that Gateway or Compaq will be shipping systems in the same configuration as his test system? Neither Compaq or Gateway has released any information regarding special modifications? Is that wishful thinking on your part?

Third: Intel has allegedly jacked up the voltage as well and is announcing "limited editions" on modified motherboards and modified heat sinks. There has been information that stated specifically that they will be releasing in this configuration. For you to fault AMD for this is a little like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it? AMD is releasing without qualifications as to low volumes or platform modifications, Intel isn't releasing but rather just announcing and doing so with all the previously mentioned caveats. Which is better? As usual, congratulations on winning hypocrite of the day award!!!

Paul, who cares about two fans vs. one? Even Celerons are sold with two fans.

Take a look here store.yahoo.com
The only fan listed for the Celeron is a dual cooling fan. The dual fans range in price between $9 and $16.
