rudedog....is memory so tight that CPQ is configuring this "super 1G Athlon machine" with only 128 SDRAM? Wouldn't you want more 256 or 512? And can these Athlons' be configured with RAMBUS Memory at all??....M

RD, my info is that CPQ are not shipping 1G Athlon systems this week. I also didn't hear that CPQ has had production parts in stock for a while. My info says that the first production 1 Gigs from AMD went out the door yesterday.

That compares with Intel's 1 Gigs that went out the door weeks ago. Hence my comments about the race still being on, with Intel in the lead so far.

Edit, just seen your later post where you too have realised that CPQ aren't shipping this week.
