I downloaded Naviscope per your suggestion. Can it give me all the messages in a thread without clicking next?

I've just started playing with it. It looks like there's specific support for Yahoo message boards, but not specific support for SI. However, going into setup you can add "view next 10 messages" as a next link which should speed things up.

I also like the ad blocking. These two things together should nicely speed up my sh|tty Useless Worst phone line connection at home, with its best-ever 42kbps-max rate.

peter, no, it can't give you all the messages in one screen. I had forgotten that that is what BrowseMaster does (never tried it).

And, yes, it pre-fetches posts, but you have to click "next". And you're right also that it helps most for dialup modems, but on days when the server-end is slow it is good for all types of modems.

It is configurable, also, for the keyword in the link that it pre-fetches for, so that it doesn't have to go after all links on a page or just one link. And you can also configure it to show you the first one it fetches before it goes after the others so there is less waiting. I like it a lot as clicking next becomes instantaneous and I don't really mind clicking between posts.

The main drawback is the posting difficulty I consistently have (but not too big a deal to disable and re-start).

The "toolbar" is also a nuisance, but you can choose to disable it.
