Let us hope for a day opposite to yesterdays. Days like yesterday increase the number of grey hairs I'm carrying.

This might help answer your questions Scrapps on where to get these DSL modems we keep hearing about:

"Fremont, Calif. - March 1, 2000 - Promatory Communications, Inc., a leading developer of next-generation broadband access systems, today introduced HomeDSL? -- a new way to deploy consumer DSL services that will dramatically accelerate the proliferation of DSL in the residential and small-office/home-office (SOHO) markets. Promatory is working in conjunction with its retail distribution partner, Creative Labs, Inc., to deploy HomeDSL. HomeDSL includes three elements:

Promatory's IMAS (Intelligent Multiservice Access System) configured for HomeDSL with high-density G.lite line cards installed at the carrier's central office;
Creative Labs' Modem Blaster© DSL customer premises equipment- targeted to arrive at retail outlets in the Spring of 2000;
Creative Labs' retail distribution, and customer service and support organizations.
HomeDSL's low hardware costs, reliable service and simplified deployment and installation will generate significant opportunities for the telecommunications industry. In addition, for the first time, consumers will soon be able to go to nationally recognized retail outlets and purchase low-cost, off-the-shelf DSL modems. After signing up with a local service provider, consumers will be able to simply plug a Modem Blaster© DSL into a PC and a standard phone jack and begin realizing the benefits of Web access at broadband speeds."

Looks like spring time is when all this G.Lite hoopla hits the store shelves. By the way, Creative Labs uses Promatory, and Promatory uses AWARE!!!!! At least that is what their web page says:-) I think we are just ahead of the game a little. This stuff takes time and we are getting impatient.
