Note the '99 "earnings" for AMD include a minus sign. That means that AMD Lost money for '99. Just like it did for the prior 3 years.

Windsock,

You are absolutely right. However the two most profitable quarters in the past 4 years occurred in '99: $.53 eps, Q2; and $.43 eps, Q4.

I believe they portend a very profitable year 2000. We'll know to some degree in 5 weeks.

Windsock, <AMD Lost money for '99>

You have hit the nail on the head. AMD lost money last year and will make lots this year. Stock price soars and we get rich.

Intel made loads of money last year and will probably make nearly as much this year, which will still disappoint Wall St. Who knows how long thir stock price will remain where it is now. Might go up, might go down.

I know which I am backing. Go AMD!
