MONTREAL (CBS.MW) -- After being halted for a day, investors in Cinar were impatient to get out of the Canadian filmmaker.

The stock shed two-thirds of its value on Tuesday, falling 12 1/2 to 5 3/4 on heavy trading. That's down from a 52-week high of 30 1/4.

More than 18.3 million shares changed hands, compared with an average daily trading volume of about a half-million shares.

The company (CINR: news, msgs) said Monday that about $122 million of company money was invested without the board's clearance. Further, the top two executives left Cinar.

The Canadian company, which creates entertainment and educational programming, has been under scrutiny for alleged financial irregularities.
