BAV to Provide Customers With Reliable, Round-the-Clock Access To Advanced Merchandising Technology Via the Internet

WASHINGTON, March 7 /PRNewswire/ --

BAV Software, the pioneer of the Collaborative Merchandise Optimization(TM) business process, today announced it has teamed with Exodus Communications(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq: EXDS, news, msgs), a leader in complex Internet hosting and managed services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Exodus(R) will be the primary provider of Internet hosting services for BAV and its groundbreaking InitiaLink(TM) software, designed to allow retailers and manufacturers to develop more effective, cost-efficient merchandising plans. The alliance marks a crucial point in BAV's long-term strategy, as the year-old company prepares to launch its latest product and open up its ASP delivery model for business.

"BAV Software is thrilled to be working with such a well-respected Internet pioneer," said D. Randy Laney, President and CEO of BAV Software. "As we prepare to officially launch our e-commerce capabilities, we feel that there is no better company to entrust with our network management than Exodus. Our customers will appreciate the high performance bandwidth they will experience as they discover the breakthrough value delivered by InitiaLink."

Exodus was chosen as the preferred hosting provider for BAV's ASP delivery model because of its enormous bandwidth and robust security offerings. BAV will locate its servers in Exodus Internet Data Centers (IDCs) in order to leverage the company's high-speed, global backbone.

"We are pleased to be working with BAV Software as the company expands its customer base throughout the consumer products and retail industry," said Ellen M. Hancock, President and CEO of Exodus. "Our Web hosting services, network performance and management capabilities will enhance BAV's ability to proliferate its product in the market. The company represents a valuable addition to our customer portfolio."
