PB,

THe 1GHz Athlon classic is a short term product. It may completely disappear by the time Intel delivers larger quantities of 1GHz Coppermine in Q3. In Q3 it will be 1 GHz Coppermine vs. 1 GHz Thunderbird.

Joe

PS: Congratulations on your AMD gains

PB, >One thing I do want to see, is if the Athlon takes a significant benchmark hit the 1GHz Athlon takes wrt to its
off die cache (I've seen Sharkey's; they should do a 1GHz Pentium III shortly). If it does take a significant hit, to
me it would accentuate the express need for AMD to get Dresden online.

Dresden = Copper. What does that have to do with it other than more (maybe) MHz? The on-die L2 cache problem AMD has is not CU related. Anyway, Mr. Market could care less about benchmarks, as MHz, or GHz now, sell.

Shaq 61 points. I guess Phil Jackson got to him.
