Just kinda, sorta OT: Valuations and Market Caps

Network Solutions (NSOL) gets bought out for $21 billion in Verisign stock and has 1999 EPS of 0.77 and estimated 2000 EPS of $1.26???

NSOL net revenues were $220 million in 1999 and they register domain names (yawn).

Somebody please give me a reasonable estimate of the market cap for SNDK. I am beginning to think that $8 billion is woefully inadequate.

Sam, Just 50 cents for a Secure Digital Memory Card slot.
The OEM's are going to gobble these things up. Beats the hell out of embedded flash storage.

TechWeb March 6, 2000

Yamaichi Electronics USA has introduced its FPS009 connector series for secure digital (SD) cards, the latest in removable flash-storage media, developed by Toshiba, SanDisk and Matsushita (Panasonic). SD cards provide secure content storage and copyright protection for intellectual property.

Roughly the size of a postage stamp, the low-profile (3.4-mm) connectors minimize board space by locating the surface-mount tails underneath the insulator.

In addition to housing SD cards, FPS009 connectors can accept MMC (multimedia) cards.

On a manual-type connector, pricing is under 50 cents in volume, with delivery in six to eight weeks.
