Reason for buying ATHM now !
T's acquisition of UMG is scheduled to be approved by SEC end of 3/00. After that it is highly likely that T will acquire ATHM - because T doesn't want anything to affect the UMG acq. - who said in the S-3 form that it has been exploring strategic alternatives to current relationship to unlock shareholder value. Other pundits have concurred with this prediction. ATHM mgmt has been mum for an obvious reason.

This means Wall Street should get wind of it in mid 3/00. Therefore, to be ahead of the pack, now is the time to play
the cycle, in my view. Furthermore, I continue to believe that upside to revenues, subscriber growth, and earnings estimates exist over the long-term. ATHM will have 6MM subs by 2002. It has had the "first-mover" advantage over any broadband ISP. ATHM will serve an additional 440K UMG customers this year as posted earlier. This week will be the last week you can by ATHM in the high 20's.

With 2 presentations at HQ & Pain Webber confabs this week, the St will start to realize what a steal ATHM is.

If the buyout happens, ATHM will surge 50 - 100% from this level easily in a short time. This is an extremely risk free play in a weak and volatile market before the Fed increase rates on 3/21, 5/16, 6/18/00
