calypso: Was in transit today--so out of it after 0830 till now.

Great day. The Wall Street Jrnal had a big Verisgn article today --Later on I'll try and find and post. Relevant to what happened.

Bottom line the VRSN--gobble of NSOL has automatically got everyone thinking about other consolidation possibilities.

The mini versions of VRSN--ENTU and BALT will be most acutely interested. Others like CIC, DVNT,JAWZ will be eyeing everyone.

I think CIC went up because of the above. The good wee NR helped somewhat.

J. Angles (John)--as far as I know (not far)-- when a company files to list on an exchange like NASDAQ--they--by SEC rules-- have to be very careful about what they say--as the documents are all filed ( by the way the S1--all--x pages are available on the EDGAR. Someone might post the URL.

Sort of like a maxi version of the quiet time going into a Q financials. Doesn't stop normal course technical PLA agreement announcements like today.

Calypso may know a lot more about the Quiet time rules.

Poison pill--foggy memory--Ron may remember more--but it was passed by the board about 3 years ago--and essentially is for a hostile circumstance. It gives 2 basic defenses.

1-- more time than normal to find a white knight and
2-- gives exsisting shareholders the right to buy something like twice the number of shares they have at the market price just prior to the hostile (usually coming in at a premium)

The net effect is it will cost the hostile a bundle more and give the shareholders the (right) of more shares (if they want to partake). Ron N. --help me here.
