Steve,

In the past, the constant theme used by some on this thread was that AMD was behind Intel by two and half speed grades. With the recent 1GHz Athlon release, how many speed grades is Intel behind AMD? If we use Intel standard 33MHz increments - Intel has yet to release 833, 850, 867, 900, 933, 950, 967 and 1GHz Coppermines - this makes Intel behind AMD by a whopping 8 speed grades! I know it won't last, but it's fun to look at how times have changed.

Is Intel going to release 1GHz as reported by ZDnet? I hope they do it sooner. Intel creates demand and AMD fills it (TM cirruslvr) :-)

How about having a small poll - date by which we may see 1GHz (even with ETAs) listed on the Pricewatch.

My guess is 03/28/00.
