true...funny enough, people are still buying loads of puts on SOX components. you'd think they'd have given up by now...

obviously it makes no sense to short the SOX...fundamentally yes, but technically everything says it should be avoided from the short side.
mind you i'm not advocating buying that trash here...even though it might still go up even further.
i advocated buying semis in late '98, and i sold them when they became overvalued. needless to say, they doubled and tripled from where i sold them.

eventually they will also get theirs, but who knows when that will be...note though that the semis are now among the most crowded trades around. when their turn comes it should be quite a spectacle.

but not yet...imo.

anyway, the buyers are obviously suffering from some sort of delusion...as Fleck has pointed out, revenues have just reached '95 levels. even if you discount another few glorious years (by no means assured as it were) they are grossly overvalued.
