Diamond exploration is a slow process. They explore all the surrounding area to secure what they want. Just recently Ashton reduced their land holdings and kept the most prospective. Ashton has secured probably the best land package. There latest release with JV with Horseshoe(90K northcentral of K14) proves that Ashton still considers Alberta a high prty. Most exploration companies stop drilling and move on to other areas. Not Ashton. They are hanging around K14. Why? If anyone would offer than more than their book value on buying all of their outstanding shares or Buffalo Hills holdings, Ashton would walk away from the deal. Geology is a slow process, although they may not have sastified short term shareholders with a mine, they are progressing at a faster pace then they anticipated. Their senior VP exploration, Wayne is gone back to Ashton Australia. As long as Ashton is concerned, Wayne accomplished his assignment. Diamond exploration has always been and continues to be a hush hush business.
IMO, the best pipe within the K14 project is yet to be announced.
Assuming I am wrong, Ashton still has promising land in NWT. The problem with NWT is the cost to bring to production is much higher than Alberta.
