Company happenings: After Tuesday's markets closed, Comverse Technology (CMVT) reported fourth-quarter earnings of 60 cents a share, above the 57 cents that analysts had expected. Revenue at the communications software maker rose 27 percent from a year earlier to $240.6 million. The company also set a 2-for-1 stock split, effective April 3 for shareholders of record as of March 27. Comverse shares were up by more than 3 percent in after-hours trading Tuesday evening, indicating a rise Wednesday morning. upside.com
