Howdy thread. Many of techs also go up because of incredible earnings growth, you just have to find the right ones. Just checking on my gold insurance.

I think you are right E. I understand the need of b2b it is cost saving takes less time .
I have tried to shop on the net the more it grows the more impossible it gets.
So i think commodities but in this robust net none of us eat we are all soylent which taste like he double toothpicks to me.
Many appliances seems to be built for a probably five years where it use to be ten but we don't have land for dumps.
At least we can burn money and print more and what about future generations?
Too bad some of these tech gurus didn't look at the environment that just the casings from obsolete create.
Damn gold anyway you can recycle it.

Some of these high tech companies are less affected by rising crude and raw material prices. Let me give you an example in the Internet Sector, which has very deflationary ramifications:

F5 Networks ( FFIV ) supplies both hardware and software based Internet traffic and content management solutions. The company's hardware product is a load balancer, which monitor servers in multiple sites for problems and malfunctions, manages user traffic and routes users to the best available server. It's software-based products check content to ensure consistent performance.

To be sure, individuals who work for companies like FFIV, and families, are shelving out more money to heat their home and fill their car or van with gas. So, they will have to cut back their spending on other things. That is why the retail, restaurant, auto, etc; stocks have been getting creamed lately. The Market is beginning to discount a recession here. If crude and raw material prices continue
to rise and the economy enters a recessionary period or very sluggish growth, you got the best environment for a Gold Bull to be born. Most of the companies in the high tech sector would also get adversely affected as their growth rates would drop significantly. It will be interesting to see if the new era succumbs to the same old-fashioned rules of finance that have applied throughout history. One thing is for sure: this bull will die hard. High Tech investors still believe in the Magic of Greenspan to produce a soft landing. They will give him every benefit of the doubt to the very end till the handwriting is on the wall.

< Many of the tech stocks have been going up simply because they are tech stocks- have some other magic word association-like wireless tech...>

The Wireless Market is in the very early stages of infancy. It happens to be a great thing. I own a Palm IIIx and surf the web using the Puma browser when I'm away from my PC at home with my super fast Time Warner Cable Road Runner Service. proxiweb.com. The Yahoo Instant Messenger for the Palm is great too. Watch for much greater speeds this summer:
