Joan:

When I was a teenager, I worked two summers in a soap pouring tower at P&G's big plant in Hamilton. I was stunned (at first) when I watched the same soap (except for perfume and colour) pour into a huge variety of different boxes. (g)

best, Earlie

Even if P&G makes the generic items, their margins should be lower than on brand name items, no?

Joan,

Costco also has a wide variety of food, consumer products, etc... under their brand. I've picked up a few and the quality doesn't seem bad.

To be honest, for the first time I am mildly concerned about generic competition because it appears that the retailers are shifting some of the power in their direction.

Do you know any more details about the manufacturing?
