Cable vs DSL
Keep us posted on how you like this. I wanted to get cable and then run it into a small server I have and then share it with the two PC's I have in my house. But I had heard varying results from some of my friends. They say at times when everyone in their node is on, its no faster than a modem. So I still have my 56K modem, which is not bad.
I've installed DSL for a few clients and have been impressed with the speed. These were only 256K lines but I downloaded a few big files in the middle of the day and it was speedy. These are dedicated connections and not shared bandwidth like cable.
I live a little too far for DSL so I'm still waiting to see what happens in the next 6 months.
High speed bandwidth is surely where some big money is going to be made over the next few years. Whoever comes up with a better solution than we have now will be hot.

I'm speechless...cable is shared...ADSL is not....I cannot believe there is anything to compare.

Maybe I am missing something..I have friends with cable...4pm on, when kids out of school, they'd rather have...modem..
