levy,

If cable or DSL is available in your area and you can afford it, I recommend it. I'm accessing SI with a cable modem and it's working fine for me.

Not having any trouble with loading time--using ADSL.
Looks like the bugs are being ironed out.

Objective i was once, levy, yes. Some hard feelings come into it now though. SI was just a website but it was the centre of the net for me, it opened up a whole new world and aided the making of friends and money both. Enemies too of course, lol ... and it could get a little hard on the marriage when it was just tooo good. But i liked it, and when go2net blocked access to the real thing the rubbed-off goodwill they inherited from the brilliance of the Dryers' elegant simplicity got worn down real fast. Sorry.

To answer your cleverly specific question - Yes i find the post loading time slower on go2net than on real SI, but not nearly as agonisingly slower as is the Subjectmarks page, which seems to struggle along over about ten seconds until it gets up to 172k, where it just stalls out ... seems to need a rest, the little dark grey bar in the bottom left-hand corner of Netscape stops going back and forth in its box, other browser windows are affected as well, it seems to be sucking all resources of the computer for ten to fifteen seconds total. There was no need for this. Real SI just whacked that Subjectmarks page up against your eyeballs right now and bingo you were reading what you came for.
And - amazing but true - it was legible.

That's not the only problem by any means, of course, but it is a major one when time is short in the trading day and you're trying to catch up on fresh individual posts on a number of threads. But i request nothing. Tried that. And there are positive aspects - i've discovered other quality sites on the net and my wife appreciates the reduced time overall that i spend online ... so it'll all work out fine ... good luck to you ... cheers
