My doctor has been telling for the last 4 years that if i don't stop smoking, it'll eventually kill me. I'm still alive- I bet he feels really stupid now!

Not rubbing in, but I'd think if I was bullish bullish and bullish, and the markets kept tanking for 5 years, I'd feel pretty stupid making bearish calls in public...!!!

I've been successful in my bearish calls the last few years.

I've spent the most time on three boards. Iomega, as it was going down from the 30's to it's current price of around 4, Zitel as it was going down from the 20's to around 2 (now up back to 6), and now Amazon. I talked about fundamental valuations each time.

To add balance, I will admit public mistakes in shorting Inktomi (still too complex for people to understand what a loser that company is) and Dell (overestimated Compaq's ability to change its business model to compete).

The private fund for which I consult was up over fifty percent last year, most of it was profits from shorting. It was up even more the previous year. Our firm has survived and thrived where other short-funds have suffered and died.

Fear me, for my bear claws have the dried blood of bulls on them, and I am hungry once again. Amazon is a meal fit for a king, and I am a King Bear.
