Speaking of brokerage firms:

About a year ago I went from a full service firm (Dain Rauscher) to Discover on-line. Discover, in turn, was bought by Morgan Stanley. One of the first things I heard from MS was that they were going to increase the price of trades from $14.95 to $29.95 on 3/31/00. Two days ago I got a phone call from a former Discover broker who told me that the powers that be at MS have decided to postpone the price rise until 9/30 and that, maybe, it would be postponed forever.

I have had very good service from MS (and Discover before that) but I don't trade a lot.
