Hi Loki:

Who's getting the INTC computer supply contract?

I think it might be Alta Vista. There is a rumour that after the IPO, AV will do a reverse takeover of CPQ in a share swap. Alta Vista will then give away COMPAQ computers free to anyone who will sign up for Alta Vista's free internet service. The idea is to increase the customer base to attract advertisers. Of course, the other portals will make similar free offers. But I hear Alta Vista will keep the pressure up by offering to pay people to take free COMPAQ computers and sign up for Alta Vista free internet services for a contractual period of one month. An Alta Vista spokesperson said that if this doesn't work, it might even offer free sex.

LOKI -- <<"Who's getting the INTC computer supply contract?">> If you were INTC and one major supplier used your product EXCLUSIVELY who would you go with? My guess is DELL, of course.
