More about Queensgate. $210M in cash and SDLI stock for a company with $9M in 1999 revenues with 70% YoY growth. About 100 employees. It looks like SDLI is not satisfied with anything less than the cutting edge.

SDL, based in San Jose, Calif., said it will make an initial payment of $3 million in cash and $57 million of its stock, plus contingent payments of up to $150 million, based on Queensgate's pretax profits in 2000 and 2001.

Our Optical Performance Monitors are key sub-systems for DWDM network management. They enable measurement of power, wavelength and other performance-related parameters, allow real-time fault diagnosis and correction, and contribute to a significant reduction in operator's total cost of ownership.

Our technologies encompass precision optical fabrication, beam steering and positioning with sub-nanometer precision. We have families of nanopositioning products and precision optical systems that complement and support our filter products and technology.

More about Nanopositioning.

To meet the ever increasing precision required of positioning and scanning devices, Queensgate Instruments is developing a NanoPositioning technology, the technology of moving and measuring with subnanometer precision, which helps researchers and manufacturers in the production of some of the most advanced products in use today. NanoPositioning products are developed by combining Queensgate's piezoelectric and NanoSensor technology into multi-axis positioners with the ability to position with sub-nanometeric accuracy.
