You know you've arrived when...

The April 2000 issue of Popular Science, in the Automotive Newsfronts feature says, "It's now likely that the first fuel cell to appear on a production car will not be a powerplant, but a solid-oxide fuel [cell] being developed by Delphi Automotive Systems and Global Thermoelectric of Canada. The fuel cell operates at high temperatures, converting gasoline to electricity directly. It will be used to power a car's electrical system. It could be in a production car within a few years."
