Comments from short sellers are not important. It is the insiders you have to worry about. When they start dumping their stock the game is over. No amount of comments on these boards or short selling can stop a real company. And there are massive amounts of stock to be sold by insiders. The only real danger you face from the shorts is a compilation of information that is sent to the SEC and gets the company halted and delisted (see USAT, CTRN and UPCA which we were involved in). In that case, the stock goes back to pennies and you have no chance of getting out. But, this is a great way for you to learn. You could also see the movie Boiler Room and see how the Pump and Dump game works as well.
