you wouldnt have to get called away
here is the summary of the Volt CC strategy

you write calls against half your shares
if it goes up, then your underlying shares rise nicely
before being called away, buyback more dear, take shorterm loss, with tax benefit
but immediately write next month's calls for same stock
keep repeating until the stock retreats with profitaking
eventually it will do just that, and you keep 100%
when you keep total worthless expired contracts, big payoff

unlikely stock will rise for several consecutive months
following earnings announcment, surely or very likely
