AOL,,, what's so great about the bus. model,, anyone can do it,, see the competitors out there.
do you hear of any real competitor to PCLN? , no, they are alone in this special field, and as you mentioned they can apply it to almost anything.
What about the valuation of the so recent VRSN and network solutions?.

An even more basic synthesis of PCLN is that it is just another auction site. Basically hawking airline tickets, hotel rooms, groceries, gas, and whetever else they can think of.

I think at current valuations the risks are huge. Their business model is just a creative way of re-defining auctions, and at the core has nothing proprietary about it.
