Hutchison Whampoa, Internet Capital Group in Web Alliance

Hong Kong, March 9 (Bloomberg) -- Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., Hong Kong's largest conglomerate,
and Internet Capital Group, a U.S.-based Internet investment company, said they teamed up to
develop business-to-business electronic commerce.

The two companies will unveil details of their partnership at a news conference at 11:00 a.m. Hong
Kong time.

Hutchison recently forged an alliance with Priceline.com Inc. to allow
Asian consumers to bid on plane tickets, hotel rooms and groceries.
It has also formed partnerships with HSBC Holdings Plc and other
companies to develop e-commerce in the region.

Internet Capital, meantime, owns stakes in five publicly traded
companies that help businesses work better on the Internet. It also
works with 50 private companies and has $1.3 billion to invest.

Hutchison shares rose 2.9 percent to HK$140. Internet Capital fell 2.1
percent to $138 1/8 in U.S. trading.
