When dealing with anything with a JD or Esq after its name, never say never.

How's this for a spin:

"Company X intentionally misrepresented projections of weaker earnings, knowing full well the downward pressure on stock price that would occur, in an attempt to permit company insiders to acquire less expensive stock, knowing full well that true projections were higher than represented."

Is this a stretch? Perhaps, but I would never bet against its likelihood.
