I was intrigued to see that the peach trees had tight little buds on the branches, I think they may bloom very soon. The cherry trees along the roads started blooming this past weekend or so. Probably Yoshino cherries or another ornamental.

It is a lot of fun except for digging the holes to plant them in. There is an indescribable feeling when planting a tree, like being part of everything, that I just don't get when planting, say, tomatoes. Speaking of tomatoes, it's probably too late to plant seeds. I need to get with the program! <g>

How do you keep the birds from eating the cherries before you can? They wait one day before they are ripe and, bingo, the tree is empty.
