Craig, Hi!! RE: I believe that I may not be typical, but many households are getting multiple computers. Home networking is going to be HUGE. If the best computer goes in the office and the rest move down the food chain to the kids. Then there is reason to the madness. Just seems like we are far from saturated in the market place for PCs. DELL has this figured out. If they can ride the wave around the world to 1, 2,3 or more computers in each household with a decent and growing market share, then they are just in diapers now. Low cost PCs are not much use after a year. After owning one, people will jump to quality and performance. Businesses don't have use for low quality cheap PCs. They buy quality systems. All the talk about other revenue streams aside... I think that DELL has a great future in PC hardware. The rest is just icing on the cake. Craig....Nice to hear from you again.....Your "evaluation" here sounds like Michael....IMO his position has never wavered....Many on this thread have discussed the "YUGO PC" and it's uselessness to anyone that uses one more than a few hours a week....I too have to agree with "fighting in the home" over the PC.... :o) Time will tell but there is no way we're getting rid of ours...As a matter of fact I want more....Bandwidth will cause huge upgrades due to the opportunities...IMO it will be a wave like the wave that hit TV when TV's went from black and white to color....But, only on a much faster scale....I've talked before of the excitement Michael seems to have for bandwidth....and after reading the article from the Austin Statesman by Jerry Mahoney on the Home Entertainment concepts that DELL is working on....Well, let's just say....Jerry is excited...He wrote me and told me of the bold initiatives that DELL is working on.......Jerry has been covering DELL for a long time....Frankly, if he's excited ....I'm excited... "THE DAY WILL COME WHEN YOUR PC WILL MAKE YOUR STEREO FEAR FOR IT'S LIFE".... Best, Kemble
