If you go back and read my posts in the SI around 1996-1998 timeframe, you will see that I used to trade heavily in options at that time (DELL in particular, but also other internets, which is how I came to know Luc and these two threads :-)). That, of course, was too risky. My capital was low and my risk preference high (and so was the the beta of my portfolio). Risk, fortunately, equaled return in my case (only God or Michael Burke can make superior returns with market risk, estimated, not calculated :-)). Now, the reverse is true, and I aim at the market beta with market risk. However, I am slowly switching from the S&P500 to the NASDAQ as that represents the future US economy more accurately IMO and I also have some PBHEX (small portion of my net portfolio) as I posted to Luc a few days dack.
