Donald_Duck,Good recap.WAVX is on both TCPA/ISTPA!

Last I checked ITRU was on neither...this speaks volumes.

Victor Shear, CEO ITRU, admitted not too long ago that the REAL SOLUTION re client security revolves around a "hardware" based architecture. That is why ITRU started up a fledgling operation with CRUS to tackle the issue. They quickly realized they were "barking up the wrong tree" when they factored in two points: (A) WAVX was so far ahead technologically especially with the N*Able acquisition and (B) WAVX has been a long standing member ( a founding member in one case) of BOTH standards organizations, TCPA&ISTPA.

You see, ITRU realized that they were just going to spend money needlessly so they allied with WAVX to meet the objectives that you pointed out in your post.

However, one additional point is very important. Looking at the socalled "bigger" picture, of the two technologies I do not believe there is any question that WAVX has the more broadly applicable technology within the Digital World. One can envision WAVX technology in just about any sort or type of digital technology whereas with ITRU this is not as clear cut. Hence, from this perspective one can say that WAVX is more powerful over the longer haul. This could be very very important in terms of determining which enterprise offers greater long growth.

Furthermore, with all due respect to Victor Shear, IMHO Peter Sprague is an individual that offers a unique set of managerial attributes. They are as follows: (A) "the vision thing" and (B) the operational experience of managing for many years a large technology based organization called National Semiconductor (indeed actually turning around Natl Semi from the brink of disaster) To have both qualities is very rare.

So, in a nutshell, IMHO WAVX will slowly but surely assert its dominance. Naturally, it is all a big guessing game in the final analysis. And yet, I for one will bet with "Gilder&Co." because therein lies the greater odds for a much greater prosperity.

ALL THINGS GILDER
