Analysts praise MAST restructuring as they vie for new underwriting business:

Andrew Steinerman, Bear Stearns:

"This is what I think is one of the best go-to-market strategies in the IT
services area...The company spoke with an incredible amount of credibility. In my opinion,
this is the broadbased IT services firm that truly gets the e-services market.

Wayne Segal, Credit Suisse First Boston:

[comparing IGTE's new business-incubator structure to CMGI and ICGE said that since iGate focuses on IT services, it won't be competing much with those companies.]

"It's going to create a lot of value for shareholders."

Sam, if you haven't listened to Sunil Wadhwani interview on Radio Wall Street today I suggest you do. Man talk about 'missionary zeal'.

The interview lasts about 30 minutes and he spells out the strategy very clearly in that time.

He said Mascot (Rev $50 mil) will hit the stock market in India by March and three months later the ADR should hit NASDAQ. Three of the 9 iGate companies or so will come out with IPOs with in the next few months in the U.S and others will follow.

iGate Ventures-a Venture Capital Fund- has already invested or acquired 3-4 companies since its inception 3 or so months ago and he expects the $75 mil in initial funding (all of which came from iGate's internal accruals) to be fully deployed within the year. iGate plans to fund the VC with $300 mil in additional funds within the year. I see a mini ICGE/CMGI in the making here, the difference being iGate will be much more focused than the others.

This thing could turn out to be a home-run.
